  • Noise is unwanted sound and nerve jarring sound or mentally and physically harmful sound to the human body. In the 20th century, the aviation industry have been comprehensive industry of all areas and humanity have been globalized, the number of aircraft operated have been increased continuously. We confirmed that the actual measured noise data was consistent with the aircraft average noise data to calculate noise maps of INM version 7.0. and based on this, the actual flight scenarios and the noise map were created. For making the noise map, we assumed that the maximum number of flight is operated.

  • Runway visual range (RVR), one of the important indicators of aircraft takeoff and landing, is affected by meteorological conditions such as temperature, humidity, etc. It is important to estimate the RVR at the time of arrival in advance. This study estimated the RVR of the local airport after 1 hour by upgrading the RVR estimation model using the proposed deep learning network. To this end, the advancement of the estimation model was carried out by changing the time interval of the meteorological data (temperature, humidity, wind speed, RVR) as input value and the linear conversion of the results. The proposed method generates estimation model based on the past measured meteorological data and estimates the RVR after 1 hour and confirms its validity by comparing with measured RVR after 1 hour. The proposed estimation model could be used for the RVR after 1 hour as reference in small airports in regions which do not forecast the RVR.

  • In many countries the principle of shielding is employed to permit a more logical approach to restricting new construction and prescribing obstacle marking and lighting. It also reduces the number of cases of new construction requiring review by authorities. Shielding principles are employed when some object, an existing building or natural terrain, already penetrates above one of the obstacle limitation surfaces described in Annex 14. If it is considered that the nature of an object is such that its presence may be permanent, then additional objects within a specified area around it may be permitted to penetrate the surface without being considered as obstacle. The shielding effect of immovable obstacles laterally in final approach and missed approach areas is more uncertain. In certain circumstances, it nay be advantageous to preserve existing unobstructed cross section areas, particularly when the obstacle is close to the runway. This would guard against future changes in either approach or take-off climb area specifications or the adoption of a turned take-off procedure.

  • This paper proposes the development model of the aerodrome traffic control simulator (ATCS) System for the domestic airport. The application of the ATCS is used as a OJT training function for the air traffic controller and research function for a new control procedure. In order to perform those functions, we classified the ATCS in three types such as education, research and integrated management system, and the ATCS types analysed by the working and OJT training condition in domestic airport. Therefore, we proposed the ATCS models such as uniform type, differential type, and center type, and analysed the merits and demerits of the proposed models. Also we looked up ATCS's application in terms of the building and maintenance costs, operational utilization and scalability. So, we proposed the differential type which was suitable for the developing ATCS for the domestic airports.

  • This study has been conducted for current situation of and countermeasures for aircraft noise. Aircraft noise is difficult to control, because of its wide-range effects, and it needs a great deal of funding for noise prevention like removal airport or land purchasing. And, in effort of determine whether aircraft noise can have health effects such as hearing loss, hypertension and psychological stress. This study, which uses of noise data around flight training airports in Korea, tries to understand and confirm related laws and regulations, and present civil application and situation of countermeasures. And, by measuring data of flight training airport, the situation of training aircraft noise problem have tried to confirm. To overcome these limitations and establish appropriate measures against noise, we made noise map with INM version 7.0, FAA aircraft noise prediction program, and evaluated aircraft noise. In particular, the FAA's Integrated Noise Model(INM) is widely used by the civilian aviation community for evaluating aircraft noise impacts in the vicinity of airports. We analyzed noise impact by applying several scenarios. As these analysis, we suggest flight route without overlapping with residential area and without affecting flight safety.

  • Due to the rapid increase in air traffic worldwide, ICAO has replaced the existing navigation equipment with equipment based on satellite navigation. As a part of that work, ICAO was planning to replace conventional takeoff and landing service using ILS with GBAS. Unlike ILS, GBAS which uses precision approach service inducing aircraft to airport and satellite based augmentation system providing precise position information service surrounding airport is capable of providing a required performance by only a system, regardless of the number of systems, and has an advantage that it is possible curved approach. In this paper, fuel reduction of ILS approach procedures and GBAS curved approach procedures is estimated and determined by flight test in Taean Airport.

  • The airspace has to be designed considering the flight safety and economic efficiency of aircraft operators. The International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) published standards and recommended practices for safe design of the airspace. Each contracting country must follow the ICAO standards in designing the airspace for the utilization of civil aviation. Normally each member establishes its own standards and national aviation law for the safe and efficient design of the airspace, regarding the ICAO standards. However, our government has not developed yet clear and detailed standards and regulation system for airspace design. This might lead to aviation accidents and disputes between operators of aviation system This study is to review the characteristics of ICAO standards and a legal problem related to application of international standards for airspace design. Specifically this research analyzed the case of airspace design and operation of a domestic airport. The results of analysis are as follow: (1) per the safety of civil aviation, it is very required to establish national regulation system to follow ICAO standards in designing airspace, (2) It is also necessary to establish separate procedure for civil aircraft in military air base, when the aerodrome is co-used by military and civil aircraft. If the same procedure for military aircraft is applied to civil aircraft, it is necessary to make clear what the design concept is, (3) and the differences from ICAO standards have to be publicly known.
