  • For many years, a number of critical issues have been raised in relation to classification criteria. prevalence and clinical features as well as the concept of childhood depression itself. In order to achieve a better understanding of the childhood depression, empirical data on the prevalence and clinical features of depression in childhood and adolescence were reviewed and discussed from the developmental perspective. The developmental perspective proposes that maladaptive behaviors are products of the coping process to normal developmental tasks and it is necessary to make out the normative and adaptive developmental process in order to understand maladaptive behaviors. Age associated changes in depression symptomatology were discussed in relation to cognitive and socio-emotional development and directions for future research in childhood depression were suggested.

Constant Ratios of Total Chloroplast Volume to Cell Volume in Tobacco and Arabidopsis thaliana at Various Developmetal Stages (담배와 애기장대의 발달단계에 따른 세포부피에 대한 엽록체의 총 부피의 일정한 비율)

  • The relationship among leaf size, leaf protoplast (cell) size, chloroplast size, and chloroplast number were investigated in tobacco and Arabidopsis thaliana at various developmental stages. In tobacco, protoplasts, less than 15.6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter had less than 20 chloroplasts, 0.93 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in thickness and 3.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in length on average. As protoplast size increased from 30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 45 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter, chloroplast size remained the same (1.57 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter and 5.55 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in length on average), but chloroplast number increase from 42 to 101 on average. A similar relationship was also observed in A. thaliana. The ratio of total chloroplast volume to protoplast volume was constant (0.105 in tobacco and 0.325 in A. thaliana) over various developmental stages.

Effect of Anoxia Treatment on the Placental Alcohol Fermentation of Oriental Melon (Cucumis meio) at Different Developmental Stage (발달단계가 다른 참외 태좌부의 알콜발효에 미치는 무산소처리효과)

  • Effect of anoxia treatment on alcohol fermentation in the placenta of oriental melons (Cucumis melo) at different developmental stages was studied. Results showed that fruits at the rapid growth stage (stage III) contained the lowest amount of acetaldehyde and ethanol as compared with fruits at other developmental stages. During anoxia treatment, a steady increase in ethanol content was observed in the placenta of oriental melons, regardless of their developmental stages, while the increment of acetaldehyde content was relatively small. Alcohol dehydrogenase in growing and maturing stage fruits showed increased activity with the maximum value at one day after the onset of anoxia treatment and then decreased gradually. An increase in the activity of pyruvate decarboxylase was also observed during anoxia.

A Comparison between Korean and American College Students' Evolution Concepts based on the History of Evolutionary Ideas (진화개념의 역사에 근거한 한국과 미국 대학생의 진화개념 수준 비교)

  • This study was conducted to identify whether there is a significant difference in the developmental stages of the evolution concept depending on the major and the country. For this study, college students (both biology major and non-biology major) in Korea and the United States answered evolution concept assessment developed by Ha (2007). The data were analyzed based on the method of developed by Ha (2016). As a result of this study, Cronbach alpha for internal consistency reliability and MNSQ indices for item response fitness of the ordered multiple choice method providing 0 to 4 point scores to creationism, teleology, intentionality, use/disuse, and natural selection respectively, satisfied the benchmark. The level of Korean college students' evolution concepts was located in use/disuse and the level of USA college students' evolution concepts was located in teleology. No interaction effect was found between the difference of conceptual progressions of evolution concept by major and country and evolution contexts (human, animal, and plant). There was a significant relationship between developmental stages of evolution concept and their religiosity. Based on the results of this study, we discuss developmental characteristics of evolutionary concepts.

항만 유형과 정보시스템 역할에 관한 연구

  • 항만정보시스템의 기능과 항만유형과는 관련성이 있는 것일까? 본 연구에서는 선진항만들의 유형과 정보시스템 기능 분석을 통하여 관련성을 규명하고자 하였다. 항만들은 자산의소유와 운영의 주체에 따라 국유제, 공영자치제, 지방자치제(지방정부자치제) 및 사유제의 4가지로 유형으로 구분된다. 유형에 따른 항만들의 주요 활동도 달라진다. 국유제와 지방자치제의 경우는 행정처리 기능에 중점을 두고 있는 반면, 공영자치제와 사유제는 고객서비스강화에 중점을 두고 있다. 항만의 유형과 정보시스템과의 상관관계를 조사한 결과 국유제, 지방자치제 항만에는 업무처리 중심의 시스템이 발달하여 있으며, 사유제 및 공영자치제 항만에는 고객서비스를 최우선으로하는 커뮤니티 시스템과 e-Business 시스템이 발달되어 있었다. 항만유형별 정보시스템의 차이는 부산항만정보시스템의 개선에 시사점을 던져주고 있다. 그동안 국유제 항만으로서 운영되던 부산항이 공영자치제 유형의 운영방식으로 변경됨에 따라 항만정보시스템도 추세에 따라 개선되어야 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법으로 3단계 방법을 제안하였다. 제 1단계가 미러링(Mirroring) 단계로서 항만운영을 안정화시키는 단계이며, 제 2단계에서는 커뮤니티 시스템을 구축하여 고객의 서비스를 제고시키는 협업화단계로 설정하였으며, 제 3단계는 부가가치창출을 위한 수익형 시스템을 개발하는e-Business 개발단계로 설정하였다.

A Proposal of Curriculum and Teaching Sequence for Seasonal Change by Exploring a Learning Progression (학습 발달과정 탐색을 통한 계절의 변화 교육과정 및 교수 계열 제안)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose curriculum and teaching sequence for seasonal change by exploring a learning progression. For the purpose, 4 steps of construct modeling approach (specifying construct, item design, outcome space, and measurement model) proposed by Wilson (2005) was applied. In the stage of specifying construct, 'length of shadow according to seasons', 'position of constellation according to seasons', 'seasons of the southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere', 'cause and phenomenon of seasonal change' were selected as the subconstructs of seasonal changes, and constructed a construct map showing the level of development from level 1 to level 4 for each subconstruct based on the results of the previous research. In the item design stage, we developed five assessment items consisting of 3 items in the form of C-E (choose and explain) and two items in the form of CR (constructed response), applied it to 383 elementary, middle and high school students. In the outcome space stage, the students' responses to the assessment items were categorized based on the construct map. The categories were classified into 4 levels according to student ability and scores of 1-4 were given. In the measurement model stage, we applied the partial credit model of the Rasch model and compared whether the learning pathway created from the results of students' response coincides with the construct map. Based on the results of the research, we modified the construct map and finally created hypothetical learning progression on seasonal change. Finally, we proposed an orientation of curriculum amendment and effective teaching sequence for seasonal change.
