A Study on the Use of Technology in Teaching-learning School Mathematics (학교수학 교수.학습에서 기술공학의 활용 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss about the use of technology in teaching-learning school mathematics. In this paper, we study the theoretical background of teaching-learning school mathematics by the use of technology. For the purpose of successful use of technology in teaching-learning school mathematics, we research the present states of it appeared in textbooks of high school mathematics And we give suggestions for the effective use of technology in teaching-learning school mathematics. Furthermore, we introduce models for teaching-learning school mathematics in areas of mathematics by the use of computer programs such as GSP, Maple, and GrafEq.

  • 학교수학을 가르치고 배우는 과정에서 교사의 역할은 기술 공학의 활용으로 변화하고 있다. 기술공학의 역할은 학생들로 하여금 수학에 대한 태도를 변하게 하여, 탐구적이며 창의적인 방법으로 수학을 공부하는데 열의를 갖도록 한다. 반면에 현재의 수학교수는 여전히 보수적이며 환경의 변화에 더디게 적응하고 있으나, 세상이 상당히 빨리 변하고 있으므로 기술공학을 활용하여 현재의 교수를 개선해 나가야 하겠다. 변화에 대한 인식과 갈망은 학습자료, 재정 상태, 그리고 기타 여러 가지 요인보다도 훨씬 중요하며 가장 중요한 것은 교수관점 및 교수견해의 변화에 대한 의지이다. 교사가 기호연산 실행 조작이 가능한 수학 학습용 컴퓨터 응용 소프트웨어와 이들을 탑재한 휴대용 수학학습 전용기를 중등학교수학에 적용할 경우, 수학교육에서 신중히 고려해야 할 것은, 첫째 모든 수준의 학생들을 격려하며, 둘째 대상 영역의 수학학습 내용을 이해하도록 기술공학을 활용한 새로운 교수 기법에 접근할 수 있어야 한다는 점이다.

University Students' Awareness and Preparedness for Social Problems of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4차 산업혁명의 사회적 문제에 대한 대학생의 인식과 준비 여부)

  • This study examines university students' awareness and preparedness for anticipated social problems of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and deteremines if there exist differences between gender, major fields of study and school years of students. Based on surveys with 122 university students in Seoul, students majoring in technology-engineering showed more positive outlook than students majoring in humanity-social science. Female students and humanity-social science students showed higher levels of concerns with social problems than male and technology-engineering students. More than three out of five students anticipated that they will experience the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution within the next five years. Two out of five students assessed their preparedness to be inadequate. Given the overarching social influence, it is necessary to develop convergent education of technology and social science that raises students' understanding and preparedness without differences in major fields of study and gender for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • This thesis is about a comparative study how they use technology in math education in both Korea and U.S.A. The subjects of investigation are the representative math education journals in Korea and America-Mathlove of Korea and Mathematics Teacher of U.S.A. I have chosen and studied contents that is related to technology in the two journals which were published for 10 years from 1995 to 2004. The followings are the theme of the study. Theme 1 (The situation of environment) : I have examined the usage situation of technology in Korea and America, by studying and analysing the rates and types of sentences contained technology in the two journals. Theme 2 (The situation of substances) : By studying and analysing substances and materials of two journals, I have made a study what changes technology of math education in U.S.A and Korea made for math learning contents and materials. Theme 3 (the situation of methods) : I made a study about how technology has affected the methods of teaching and learning math in both Korea and U.S.A by analysing and studying the methods which they have applied to math education.

Educational Effects of an Appropriate Technology Engineering Design Workshop with the People in Need (제3세계 현지인과 함께하는 적정기술 공학설계 워크숍의 교육적 효과)

  • This paper aims to present the model of engineering design education workshop for appropriate technologies. Since 2008 Handong Innovation Center for Engineering Education and a Non-Profit Organization, Sharing and Technology, held engineering design workshop during every summer break. We present the contents of the workshop and analyze the educational effects of the program. The workshop is entitled "Engineering Design Academy for the other 90%" because we take it serious that most of the research and development efforts of the science and technologies in the world is just focused on the rich people while the other 90% people in the world are unreachable from the benefits of the modern technologies. By the workshop we tries to provide the college students the perspectives on the worldwide poverty problems and to encourage them to serve the 3rd world people in need through their specialties in the field of engineering profession. The evaluation results by participants are very positive. Especially, we began invite the 3rd world people to the workshop as design problem clients from 2010 summer workshop. The evaluation from them are also very positive. The analysis results on the educational effects of the workshop show that the workshop improves the students skills required by the ABEEK (Acreditation Board of Engineering Education of Korea) including not only design capability but also team work, communication skill, understanding the social impacts of engineering design, engineering ethics, and globalization.

Suggesting the Conceptual Framework of the Nature of Technology(NOT) and Examining the Conceptions of Experts of Science, Technology, and Engineering Fields regarding the NOT (기술의 본성(NOT) 개념 틀 제안 및 과학기술공학 관련 전문가들의 인식 분석)

  • This study aims to suggest the conceptual framework for the Nature of Technology (NOT) by examining the current researches regarding the NOT in science and technology education and to analyze the conceptions of experts in science, technology, and engineering fields based on the framework of NOT. The NOT conceptual framework developed in the study consisted of the six domains of NOT, which are 1. Technology as artifacts, 2. Technology as knowledge, 3. Technology as practice, 4. Technology as system, 5. The role of technology in society, and 6. History of technology. Also, the results of analyzing the conceptions for the 30 experts in science, technology, and engineering fields emphasize on the three domains of the 3. Technology as practice, 4. Technology as system, and 5. The role of technology in society among the 6 domains of the framework of the six domains of the NOT framework. This findings are different from the results of previous researches conducted in science and technology education for exploring the conceptions of NOT in the POV of the public and students. As such, the results show that while the public and students possess naive ideas on NOT only focusing on the technology as products and tools, experts in science, technology, and engineering fields possess the authentic views of the NOT reflecting the complex and abstract concepts of technology in terms of the perspectives of philosophy of technology.

제어공학의 추이와 기계공업에의 응용

  • 근년 산업계는 여러 가지의 분야가 서로 영향을 미쳐 이복잡성이 복합된 system내에서 그 합리 화, 고효율화를 위한 탐색이 진행되어가고 있다. 공학의 각 분야들로 각기 진보함에 따라 인접하 는 분야 사이에 경제영역이 생겨 그 인접경계를 다루는 학문의 가속된 발전으로 오늘날의 고도 산업구조를 형성했다 해도 과언이 아닌 것 같다. 제어공학이란 학문도 역시 이런 인접된 경계를 다루는 기술공학이라 하겠는데 종래의 공학계학문이 종적인 반면 이 제어공학은 횡적인 경계를 취급하는 소위 매개체적인 학문이라 하겠다. 따라서 제어공학은 인접된 분야와 상호 확산을 하 면서 그 경계영역을 점차 넓혀가고 있다고 하겠다. 제어공학의 역사적 배경이 어떤 것인가를 살 펴 봄으로써 이 분야의 학문을 이해하고 나아가서는 이 학문이 실산업계 특히 기계공업을 중심 으로 보았을 때 어떤 위치에 있는가를 확인함으로써 장차 이 분야의 전공을 지향하는 학도들에게 도움이 되었으면 하고 이 과제를 택해 적어보기로 한 것이다.
