Study on the wideband mechanism of a circular ring slot antenna (원형 링슬롯 안테나의 광대역 메커니즘 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 광대역 원형 링슬롯 안테나의 광대역 특성이 일어나는 메커니즘 연구를 통해 새로운 광대역 안테나 설계 및 분석에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 하였다 먼저 기존의 광대역 안테나 및 공진회로 개념을 이용하여 새로운 광대역 안테나의 이론적인 분석을 하도록 하였으며, 기존의 광대역 안테나를 설계하는 방법(자기유사구조, 자기상보구조, 길이보다 각을 강조한 구조, 두꺼운 도체를 사용하는 구조 등)외에 최근들어 많이 연구되고 있는 안테나의 Q값을 줄이는 방법에 대해 분석 및 정리하고 본 원형 링슬롯 안테나의 복사기와 급전선사이에서 광대역이 일어나는 메커니즘에 대해서 연구하였다.

A Study on Aperture Coupled U-slot Microstrip Antenna using Wideband Stub (광대역 Stub를 이용한 개구 결합 급전 방식의 U 슬롯 마이크로스트립 안테나에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, aperture coupled U-slot microstrip antenna with wideband stub is investigated. The dielectric constant of the substrate is 2.2 and the hight of the substrate is 62 mil. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR<1.5) of U-slot antenna with wideband stub is about 10 %. The bandwidth characteristic of U-slot antenna wish wideband stub is compared with that of antenna without it. And the results of parameter studies of the wideband stub provides the optimum characteristics of bandwidth and matching.

  • In this paper, to transmit and receive the differently polarized wideband signals simultaneously with a single antenna system, the wideband, dual-frequency and dual-polarized(WDFDP) microstrip array antenna is proposed and designed. This antenna operates simultaneously at 14.25 GHz and 12.50 GHz. To extend to two dimensional array, microstrip feed line and coaxial probe through via-hole are used. The experimental results show that the proposed WDFDP microstrip antenna can be used in the compact portable terminals with a single antenna system and the characteristic of the resonators in this antenna produces a greatly enhanced bandwidth.

  • This paper proposed a novel broadband ceramic dielectric antenna by improving the conventional broadband technique that very high permittivity material is attaching to one side of low permittivity material. The broadband ceramic dielectric antenna can be designed by using our proposed method, and it overcomes the disadvantage of narrow bandwidth problem. For the proposed ceramic dielectric antenna, a 10 dB return-loss bandwidth of 33.9% has been achieved. The measurement and numerical results(Finite Element Method) are performed and confirmed to a good agreement with each other. The proposed ceramic dielectric antenna is designed and implemented to extend enough the coverage of dual band (PCS+IMT-2000).

Broadband Microstrip Slot Antennas (광대역 마이크로스트립 슬롯 안테나)

  • 본 논문에서는 직사각형 마이크로스트립 슬롯 안테나에서 폭이 넓은 슬롯에는 적합하지 않은 기존의 급전 구조대 신 T자형 급전 방식과 십자형 급전 방식으로 안테나를 설계하였다. 여기서 제시한 T자형 급전 방식을 이용하여 슬롯 폭이 20㎜일 때 41%의 대역폭 특성을 얻었고. 십자형 급전 방식으로는 슬롯 폭이 32 ㎜일 때 96%의 대역폭을 얻었다. 또한 기존의 원형 링 슬롯 안테나의 구조를 바꾸어 슬롯의 원주(circumference)가 163 ㎜일 때 1.35 octave의 광대역 특성을 얻었고, 원형 슬롯 안테나와 이에 적합한 급전 방식을 제시하여 슬롯의 원주가 같을 때 3.25 octave의 광대역 특성을 얻었다.

  • GPR은 건물의 크랙, 지중 매설물과 같은 정보를 수집하기 위해 좁은 펄스를 사용하므로 넓은 대역의 주파수 특성을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 광대역 특성을 가지는 안테나를 마이크로스트립을 이용하여 보우타이 형태로 설계하였다. 설계 기판으로는 $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=4.0, t=1.6 mm의 FR-4 유전체 기판을 사용하였다. 제작된 안테나는 S$_{11}$<-10 ㏈에서 10.62%의 대역폭을 가지고, 5.778GHz에서 -33.3 ㏈의 S$_{11}$과 1.04의 VSWR 값을 나타내었다.

Broadband Double-Cone Antennas for Measuring Partial Discharge (부분방전 측정용 이중 원추형 광대역 안테나)

  • This paper presents the characteristics of broadband double-cone antennas. The antenna is used to measure electromagnetic fields(2~5 GHz) radiated from a primary or a secondary electrode of a pole-transformer when partial discharge occurs inside the pole-transformer. The theoretical analysis is conducted using commercial software based on a finite difference time domain(FDTD) method. The parameters are a radius, and a height of the broadband double-cone antennas, and the number of posts on a ground plane. This paper examines influences of structural parameters of the broadband double-cone antennas on return loss. The results show that a condition for an optimum structure of broadband double-cone antennas exists. It also shows that the broadband double-cone antennas have radiation patterns similar to those of a dipole antenna. Therefore the broadband double-cone antennas are appropriate for the measurement of radiated electromagnetic fields from the pole-transformer. To verify the theoretical analysis, computed results are compared to experimental results.

A Study on Ultra-Wideband Patch Antenna with Modified Barrel Shape (변형된 항아리형 초 광대역 패치안테나의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper implemented an ultra-wideband(: UWB) antenna by using a modified barrel-shaped patch antenna. The designed UWB patch antenna was optimized to match UWB technical specifications by considering the sizes of barrel circle and oval(notch) which is distance between the patch and contact surface and designed antenna was implemented by $10mm(R1){\times}21.8mm$ size. Optimal values on the basis of simulated reflective loss results, the surface current distribution of designed patch antenna was analyzed in order to check operation mode of antenna and wideband mechanism. Experimental results of implemented UWB antenna, Return loss of UWB antenna the voltage standing wave ratio was 2 or less in the 1.775-13.075 GHz band, VSWR in 2 or less. And the maximum gain of approx. 1-3 dBi was found in 3.1-10.6 GHz. This result satisfied the characteristics of ultra-wideband and the proposed antenna will be applicable to an ultra-wideband system.

  • In this paper wideband dipole antenna that is usable as PCS/WCDMA/WiBro/WiMax public relay station antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna that designed by using double ring structure improves bandwidth performance of existing dipole antenna to wideband performance. To verify wideband performance and isotropic radiation pattern of the proposed antenna, simulation and fabrication have progressed its radiation characteristic has measured and then compared with calculated result. Measured result is similar to calculated result and has gain of 2dB VSWR of 2:1 over 1.75~3GHz. It is considered that the dipole antenna that designed in this paper can be usable as PCS/WCDMA/WiBro/WiMax public relay station antenna.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the impedance characteristic of the bow-tie antenna for the broadband operation. The pulsed subsurface radar uses the impulse to collect information for subsurface objects, so the broadband antenna is used to minimize reflections in the feed point for the broadband characteristic of impulse. Therefore, in this paper we analyzed the broadband bow-tie antenna with Ensemble 5.0.
